Inspirational New Show Home Opens at Kinion Heights

The stunning 4-bedroom Raeburn home has been decorated by Karen Wootton from The Design House in Aberdeen and is a bit different to your usual show home. Commenting on her inspiration, Interior Designer Karen Wootton said: “We wanted this home to feel luxurious and aspirational, yet also reflect a realistically achievable design for our buyers. The majority of show homes we do, usually include lots of wallpaper and striking feature walls, however in this home we have kept a clean, understated palette of wall colours throughout, all done in paint. The neutral shades of linen gave me the perfect backdrop to showcase a fantastic range of pattern and texture in the soft furnishing, accessories and some stunning pieces of furniture and art.”

Karen continued: "I wanted to move away from white and grey so instead opted for shades of cream, champagne and gold which create a much warmer feel. I have added touches of black to contrast on fabrics and key pieces of furniture, which has helped create a stylish contemporary look."

“The kitchen, dining, family space really is the heart of this home, and so was the first room I designed. The pale blue shaker style kitchen with creamy sile-stone worktop is very on trend so I paired it with a corner-bench style dining table to create a sociable kitchen dining area, ideal for entertaining. I used rich boucle fabric for the family area sofas which are hardwearing as well as tactile and stylish.

“Positioned to the front of the home the spacious lounge is a haven for relaxing and taking in the spectacular views across the local area. Mono-tone colours are brought to life with a well-considered variety of amazing patterns and texture in the quality dressings and accessories.

“Upstairs the luxurious master bedroom evokes the style of a chic hotel. The choice of furniture, rich dark wood and gold tones add luxury and comfort. The children’s rooms both have a wonderful animal theme yet are grown-up and stylish. Again, texture from the boucle bunny bed to the soft fur cushions and throws, add comfort and warmth.”
