Annual Golf Day Raises £12,400 for local charities!

Bancon Group has successfully raised £12,400 for two Scottish charities at its third annual Charity Golf Day, held at Newmacher Golf Club on Friday 3 July.

The event brought together 84 golfers across 21 teams, alongside eight sponsors, for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. Proceeds from the day will be shared between The Forget Me Not Club, which supports individuals and families affected by dementia, and Camphill Blair Drummond, a charity providing residential care and meaningful opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs.

Now firmly established in Bancon Group’s charitable calendar, the Golf Day has raised more than £30,000 since it began three years ago. This year’s event featured a special appearance from former Scotland rugby captain Greig Laidlaw, who hosted a popular ‘Beat the Pro’ competition, giving players the chance to test their skills against his drive.

Jamie Tosh, Managing Director of Bancon Homes and Construction, said the event continues to go from strength to strength. He commented: “Our annual golf day has been a great success. As well as bringing together our generous sponsors, colleagues and clients from across Bancon’s construction, home and timber frame business, we have raised funds for two incredible local organisations. We are proud to support both charities and the vital work they do in our communities.”

The Forget Me Not Club welcomed the donation, highlighting its importance at a challenging time for the third sector. Emily Clark, Community Engagement and Fundraising Organiser, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this incredible gift from Bancon Group. As a charity wholly dependent on donations and fundraising, support like this is crucial in helping us continue to provide life-changing services to those who rely on us.

On the course, competition was strong, with WM Donald taking first place and lifting the ‘Claret Jug’, while Dundee Plant secured second place.

The event was made possible thanks to the support of sponsors including Advance Construction Scotland, EIS Waste Services, General & Technical Flooring, RG Electrical, Burness Paull LLP, Pitkerro Plumbing & Heating, Huws Gray and Compass Print Group. Bancon Group also extended its thanks to those who donated raffle and auction prizes, as well as the team at Newmacher Golf Club for hosting the day.
