The Ideally Located Reserve at Eden Offers the Best of Both Worlds

When Simon and Cynthia relocated to Aberdeen in January 2023 for Simons’ work, location was key in the search for their ideal home.

Simon, originally from North Wales and Cynthia from Brunei, have lived overseas and worked in the Oil & Gas industry for over 20 years. They relocated to the UK in 2021 and then up to Aberdeen in 2023 when Simon secured a new job for a global energy company based in Westhill.

Upon their arrival in Aberdeen, they decided to rent so they could really take their time with the house hunt before committing to a purchase. Initially considering an older property and renovating, their minds were soon changed by the reality of work and travel commitments.

They decided a low maintenance new build home was the answer and soon visited The Reserve at Eden.

“Eden really was the best of both worlds for us”, says Simon. “Ideally located it’s a short drive to my office in Westhill, yet equally close to the city centre, as well as a host of local amenities.

“We did consider other new build developments but for us the initial customer engagement, quality, service, style and location of the Reserve at Eden really stood out.”

Simon continues, “Bancon Homes has a fantastic variety of layout designs to choose from, but we decided very quickly that the three bedroom detached Argyll was perfect for us. They arranged for us to visit another Bancon Homes development so we could tour the Argyll and we knew it was the one. We reserved our new home and even managed to secure the corner plot we had set our hearts on.”

As the couple are not from Aberdeen the team at Bancon Homes supported them by recommending local financial and legal professionals.

“The sales team was first class. Hazel and Sophie made everything easy and straightforward for us. As we were new to the city they recommended both a solicitor and a mortgage advisor, all of whom worked seamlessly together to ensure the whole process was stress free”, says Simon.

“Bancon’s Communication during the build phase was great and we were kept regularly updated with progress. This allowed us to be able to enjoy looking forward to moving into our new home.”

Simon and Cynthia moved into their new Argyll home in September 2023 and since the day they got the keys they have continued to have a positive experience.

Cynthia, who is now retired and plans to enjoy the Summer in their new garden, commented “Simon has a keen eye for detail so made sure to fully inspect the house and report all snagging via the dedicated app. Any issues have been minor and have been dealt with in a very responsive, friendly and professional manner. The site manager Tim has gone over and above to accommodate our requests .”

This purchase was Simons’ first experience of a new build property and buying a home off plan. He said’ “The whole experience has exceeded our expectations. We have felt valued and listened to. There is too much negativity in the world and I don’t think we praise enough when praise is warranted. Well done Bancon Homes!”
